How Municipal Court Warrants Work
Tennessee municipal courts handle city ordinance and traffic matters. A failure to appear or failure to comply may lead to city-court process. Each court keeps its own citation record, so Henry County TNCRTInfo does not provide a complete municipal warrant search.
A city warrant can be served by police or another lawful officer, and the sheriff may assist. Service does not make the sheriff the court that can reset or recall the case. Confirm the issuing city court from the citation or notice.
Henry County City Warrant Files Stay Split
Paris, Henry, and Puryear have named city-court clerks or public clerk routes. Their records are separate from Mike Wilson's Circuit and General Sessions docket. A TNCRTInfo result for a county case does not establish the status of a city citation.
Cottage Grove's municipal identity is documented, but current public sources did not locate a municipal-court warrant desk. Read the citation for the court that issued it and ask the county clerk or sheriff to identify the next office if the paper is unclear.
The Tennessee courts clerk directory lists City Court Clerk contacts for Henry and Puryear. The City of Henry’s department roster shows the general municipal contact and city recorder; when calling, ask specifically for the court clerk and the case record.

Municipal Courts Across Henry County
Public directories identify city-court contacts in Paris, Henry, and Puryear. Cottage Grove appears in municipal directories, but no current public municipal-court warrant office was located; an older directory lists no municipal court. The citation itself is the first guide to the issuing office.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Paris | Paris City Municipal Court | City citations, traffic, ordinance, and missed-date questions. |
| Henry | Henry City Court | City ordinance or traffic citation; call the clerk directly. |
| Puryear | Puryear City Court | Municipal matters; public directories name a judge and clerk. |
| Cottage Grove | No current public court route located | Use the named court on the citation; verify the municipal status. |
Henry County Paris Court Citation Process
Paris City Court is typically held on the first and third Thursday at 3 p.m. The citation gives the assigned date. Someone who plans to appear must notify Records at least four days before court, and the city allows one reschedule by contacting that office.
Some citations can be paid without appearing, but payment is entered on the record and does not by itself prove that an issued warrant has been recalled. Confirm the current case status with Paris Records before sending money.
The Paris court's official instructions say to enter through the Police Department entrance.Henry County Municipal Warrant Checks
No Henry County city publishes a public warrant search in the official sources reviewed. Use the citation number, court date, name, and issuing agency when calling the city clerk. For Paris, Records is the first status route; Henry and Puryear require direct clerk contact.
- Read the citation to identify the city, court, date, and case number.
- Call the issuing clerk; no current Henry, Puryear, or Cottage Grove public warrant portal was located.
- Ask whether the case is still in city court, whether an FTA process issued, and what date comes next.
- If the office says the matter moved to the sheriff or county court, ask for the receiving case or agency reference.
Henry County City Warrant Status Fields
A city clerk can confirm the citation or cause number, offense, court date, amount due, and whether a warrant or other process was entered. No local municipal warrant-number format or public status code was published. Ask what the court's exact label means before making a payment.
A paid citation may still require a court appearance, and a reset may not be final until the judge enters it. Ask how the court issues a receipt, new date, or written compliance release.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
There is no populated Henry County municipal warrant sample to reproduce. A city file may connect a cause number to the citation, court, offense, bond or fine, and later service or recall event. The blank state form schema is not a city listing.
| Citation / cause | Use the number printed by the city court; no shared format was located. |
|---|---|
| Offense | Traffic, ordinance, or failure-to-appear event as recorded by that court. |
| Issuing court | Paris, Henry, or Puryear City Court, if the citation names that court. |
| Amount | Ask the clerk for the current total and accepted payment type. |
| Current status | Confirm pending, served, reset, recalled, or other local docket wording directly. |
Henry County City Warrant Service
City police may handle local enforcement, and the county sheriff can assist with service. Paris and the sheriff signed a 2024 mutual-aid agreement that includes help with high-risk warrant service. Assistance does not change which city court owns the citation or decides a reset.
Ask the city clerk whether the matter remains local and which office has a service copy. If the sheriff is involved, confirm status with the sheriff and ask the city court about the next date or release order.
Henry County City Warrant Confirmation Contacts
The four incorporated cities do not share a single municipal warrant counter. Start with the court or city office that issued the citation; the contact and public detail vary by place.
| City route | Contact or published detail | What the information confirms |
|---|---|---|
| Paris | Records at (731) 641-1413; 100 N Caldwell | City citation and municipal court routing; a status answer still comes from the court. |
| Henry | City Court Clerk is separately listed; city office number is (731) 243-4091 | Ask the clerk whether the entry is a city case or county case. |
| Puryear | Clerk Verla Smith, (731) 247-5362, 110 N Sycamore | No public warrant portal, court calendar, or fee schedule was located. |
| Cottage Grove | City contact, (731) 247-3987; P.O. Box 26 | No current public warrant desk; the citation must identify the court. |
These are routing details, not evidence that each office operates a public warrant search. Paris has the most detailed published citation process; Puryear names its municipal judge and clerk but not an online docket; Henry’s city contact lists a separate court clerk. Cottage Grove’s older directory entry is insufficient to prove that no municipal process exists.
When calling, have the citation number, the name printed on the document, and the court date. Ask whether the case is pending, whether a warrant was entered, and what action the judge requires. If the case moved to the sheriff for service, the issuing city court still controls a reset or recall.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
Ask the city court whether payment, appearance, a reset, a bond, or a judge's recall order is needed. Henry County does not publish one resolution rule for all cities. Paris lists payment methods for citations, while Henry and Puryear do not publish the same detail.
- Confirm the court, current status, amount due, and next date with the city clerk.
- Ask whether the judge requires an appearance or can approve a reset or recall.
- Confirm accepted payment forms, any bond requirement, and required identification before travel.
- Keep the court receipt or order and ask how the city reports compliance.
Warning: Paying a city citation may not recall an issued warrant; ask the issuing court what action closes the warrant and whether a new date remains.
